Starting on Monday, March 27th through Friday, March 31st, Texans Wake Up posted a few of the harmful materials found in Canyon ISD and Amarillo ISD libraries on our Facebook page. Reviews for these titles can be found on the very popular website BookLooks.org as well as in the Canyon ISD and Amarillo ISD portals on Texans Wake Up. These titles contain sexually explicit content or content that is racist also known as 'CRT' (critical race theory). Why are these titles available for minors? We are not sure, but they are. Many are available at multiple campuses and including a junior high and even a middle school.
Please call Superintendent Daryl Flusche (Canyon ISD) and Superintendent Doug Loomis. (Amarillo ISD) if you have questions. We know we do.

"Oh, cool. Do you have that p*rn magazine in there?" Janie hesitates too late, wondering if she was supposed to say that, but she can't remember why she shouldn't. "Lot's of them," he says. "Not that I need them with you here." "Huh." She follows him through the dazed and half-naked crowd. He stops to grab another glass of punch, and gives her another one too. On the way to Mr. Durbin's bedroom, Janie waves at Coach Crater. "Hey," she says, turning back to Mr. Durbin. "Wasn't Stacey here? Before?" "She's still here, Janie." His words are deliberate, like he's concentrating. "She's f*cking Chris in the other bedroom, so we can f*ck in here." - FADE, pg 184
Robert was cautious, but she was wild. It had always been that way. The first night he had lain with her, he’d been so nervous that his p*nis had rested against his left leg, a log on the river of his quivering thigh...."Your daddy’s gon’ kill me,” he said. They were sixteen, their parents at a union meeting...."I’m not thinkin’ ‘bout my daddy right now, Robert,” she’d said, trying to stand the log. She’s put each of his fingers into her mouth one by one and had bitten the tips, watching him all the while. She’d eased him into her and moved on top of him until he was begging her to stop, to not stop, to quicken, to slow. When he closed his eyes, she’d bidden him to open them, to look at her. She liked to be the star of the show." - Homegoing, pg 210
“He kisses just under my chin, the tip of my nose, the length of my forehead, both temples, my cheeks, all across my jawline. Then my neck, behind my ears, all the way down my throat and his hands slide down my body. His entire form is moving down my figure, disappearing as he shifts downward, and suddenly his chest is hovering above my hips: suddenly I can’t see him anymore. I can only make out the top of his head, the curve of his shoulders, the unsteady rise and fall of his back as he inhales, exhales. He’s running his hands down and around my bare thighs and up again, up past my ribs, around my lower back and down again, just past my hip bone. His fingers hook around the elastic waist of my underwear and I gasp.”- Unravel Me, pg 398-399
Comments on above: The issue here is P 17 and 19, Juliette is making love with Adam and on P 398-399, she is with Aaron, Adam’s brother. The main character has sex with both brothers.
Quotes from The Black Friend: On Being A Better White Person
“Often when white people find themselves in situations where people of color are simply better at somethings, they become resentful and sometimes even dangerous.”
“And the truth is, racism and racist systems in America don’t adversely impact white people.
This is because all aspects of racism in America are rooted in white supremacy and are designed to negatively impact everyone except white people.”
“Systemic or institutional racism is a kind of stealth racism. It’s the reinforcement of white supremacy through various strategies, plans, and parts of everyday life. It’s the inequality that is built into our laws, our economic system, our housing system, our healthcare system, our educational system, our entertainment. As I said, it exists in just about every single thing you can think of.”
“White privilege is the unearned, built in, disproportionate access to resources, power, and justice that white people experience over nonwhite people as a result of systemic racism. White Privilege is rooted in colonization, though white supremacy has existed since...well, since ‘white’ has existed, and anything else became ‘other.’”
“We are but three days from our wedding, Ama,” Emory murmured. “I am your secret-keeper, and soon to be your husband. Surely you would not deny me a taste of your sweetness, now, this day, after the favors I have given you?” He didn’t wait for an answer, and still he did not free Ama’s hands. Holding them both in one of his, he managed to twist free the buttons of his trousers, and then he guided Ama’s fingers to the shaft of him. A noise like a hiss escaped from Emory as he used his hand to wrap Ama’s fingers around his yard. It was hot and hard, with a dew-wet drip at its tip. Emory moved Ama’s hands within his grip, up and down, up and down, slowly at first and then faster, until, with a grunt and a groan and a spasm so tight that the knuckles of Ama’s fingers cracked, a jet of warmth spilled out of him and trickled down Ama’s hands, still encased in Emory’s. A moment passed, during which the only sounds were Emory’s labored gasps and the intermittent squeaking of carriage wheels. When Emory’s breath ha quieted, he cleared his throat and released Ama’s hands, which were still wrapped around the king’s yard, now softening and shrinking. Her fingers were coated with the sticky mess of him." - Damsel, pg 284
My red skirt is hitched up to my waist, though no higher. Below it the Commander is f*cking. What he is f*cking is the lower part of my body. Serena Joy grips my hands as if it is she, not I, who's being f*cked, as if she finds it either pleasurable or painful, and the Commander f*cks, with a regular two-four marching stroke, on and on like a tap dripping...It's as if he's somewhere else waiting for himself to come, drumming his fingers on the table while he waits. There's an impatience in his rhythm now. But isn't this everyone's wet dream, two women at once?" - The Handmaid's Tale, pg 94
He comes at last, with a stifled groan as of relief... the juice of the Commander runs down my legs. - The Handmaids's Tale, pg 95

Our libraries are full of hundreds of harmful materials. These are not single instances. Please meet with the superintendent and trustee members and help us remove these books. They are aware these titles are in their libraries.
