Steps to Protect Your Child

#1
OPT OUT

Texas schools are required by law to provide an option to opt out from human sexuality instruction until January 2022.  Schools will usually have you opt in or out of instruction when you register your child for school or they will send home forms throughout the year for special programs, trainings or events.  You must OPT OUT.  Anti-bullying, mental health, family diversity, social emotional learning (SEL) and sex education trainings are the targeted paths for entry of left-leaning agendas and indoctrination in public schools. Opt out of everything or pull your child out of school during the time these programs are being taught.

DENY PERMISSION
#2

You will receive forms that give your permission/consent for your child to read content presented in various subjects. This permission form can sometimes be wrapped up with the class expectations, grading or discipline policies as outlined by an individual educator and presented at the beginning of the year or a semester.  As a parent, you are not required to sign.  The teacher will likely pressure your child to return the form so take this opportunity to schedule a meeting with the teacher (to present your Bill of Rights - see #3).  If you make the mistake of signing these forms and then your child is presented with inappropriate material, they will use your signature on this form against you.

PUT THE SCHOOL ON NOTICE
#3

Per the rights given in the Texas Education Code Chapter 26 Parental Rights and Responsibilities and specifically Section 26.010 which states the following: "EXEMPTION FROM INSTRUCTION. (a) A parent is entitled to remove the parent's child temporarily from a class or other school activity that conflicts with the parent's religious or moral beliefs if the parent presents or delivers to the teacher of the parent's child a written statement authorizing the removal of the child from the class or other school activity.“, you MUST put the school on notice of YOUR beliefs. Steps 1 and 2 are defensive moves.  This is your first offensive move.

Please note that most schools do not consider LGBT-related activities to be "sexuality education" and thus will not provide opt out forms. For this reason, parents should submit their own forms for the school to keep on file.  Beyond LGBT-related activities, sexual education, social emotional learning (SEL) and anti-bullying/mental health, there are many other opportunities for public schools to violate your conservative Christian beliefs.  You must clearly state your beliefs, your expectations and put the school on notice.  We recommend having a face-to-face meeting with each of your child's teachers each year and reading your notice out loud to each one.  Once the face-to face meetings are complete, email your notice to each teacher and every other staff member, coach, principal and as far up the chain of command as you see fit and ask them to confirm receipt.

We have created a 'notice' for you named the CHILDREN'S BILL OF RIGHTS.  You can use it 'as is' or edit away to fit your family's values and beliefs.  If this is more than you want to take on, we advise, at a minimum, you submit the 'Parental Non-Consent Form' created by our friends at Concerned Parents of Texas or the 'Parental Non-Consent Form' provided by Liberty Counsel or the Parental Non-Consent form part of the Parental Toolkit at the Teach Parental Rights Coalition. It doesn't matter which form you use, just OPT OUT.

#4
PREPARE

You must prepare to pull your child out of the public school system.  You weren't expecting this step were you? It is not a matter of if your Christian beliefs and values will be trampled, it is just a matter of when.  And sadly, it has probably already happened and you had no clue. You must prepare your family for this change.

Depending on the age of your child, you must start talking with them about this new journey that you will take together. Set aside time to research homeschool curriculum's and/or schedule tours of local private schools.  You must start and be diligent about your financial plan to support homeschool or private school.  This could mean one parent quits their job or you downsize your home or change your spending habits to afford tuition or loss of income.

Start preparing today so tomorrow's compromise is a lifestyle change and not a loss of your child's innocence.

#5
ALERT OTHERS

Take the time to log the issues to protect other children.  Anonymously submit a piece of biased, factually incorrect, ideological, inappropriate curriculum, pornographic book (or lesson plan, homework assignment, school policy, program, etc) from your school district by visiting all of the sites below.  You can paste any external links or upload a digital assignment, picture of a homework, or similar. Both of these sites have maps that are broken down by school district.

Guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you.
